Several Memorial Day Events Scheduled In Greenwich

There are several Memorial Day events scheduled around town for the public to attend.

GREENWICH, CT — Memorial Day is upcoming on May 26, and there are several events scheduled around town for the public to attend, according to First Selectman Fred Camillo's recent community newsletter.

May 24

The Cos Cob VFW will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park on Strickland Road near Cos Cob Marina.

May 25

A Memorial Day parade will be step off from Delevan Avenue at *1 p.m. A ceremony will then be held outside of the Byram Shubert Library. *Previously scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company and 9th District Veterans will present a parade at 5 p.m. from Glenville Street and Walker Court. A short ceremony will be held at the veterans memorial near the Glenville Fire House.

May 26

American Legion Post 29 will hold a wreath-laying and memorial ceremony at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club at 8 a.m.

At 10 a.m., the Byram Veterans Association's memorial service will be held in Eugene Morlot Memorial Park.

Also at 10 a.m., the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department parade will begin in Old Greenwich.


Memorial Day Weekend in Greenwich also means the arrival of the Greenwich Town Party, which is scheduled for May 24 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

The 61st running of the Jim Fixx Memorial Day Races is scheduled for May 26. More information can be found here.
