Superintendent Announces Library Media Program Coordinator Appointment
Jeannine Madoff has taught for twenty-two years and will now serve as the new Library Media Program Coordinator.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Salvatore Corda has announced the appointment of Ms. Jeannine Madoff as the preschool-grade 12 Library Media Program Coordinator. Ms. Madoff is currently the Media Specialist and International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator at the International School at Dundee (ISD) and has been teaching for twenty-two years, the last eighteen of which have been with the Greenwich Public Schools. The start date for Ms. Madoff’s new District role is dependent on filling her role at ISD.
ISD Principal Teresa Ricci said, “Throughout her GPS teaching tenure, both at Old Greenwich School and here at ISD, Jeannine has made many wonderful contributions to the teaching profession, in her roles as an ALP teacher, a classroom teacher and currently, as the school's Media Specialist. Her work with students and colleagues has had a significant impact on their learning and professional skill set. This next step in her career was not a question of if, but when. I look forward to hearing all the wonderful work she will be doing in her new role.” The responsibilities of the Library Media Program Coordinator span from coordination of the curricular and programmatic needs of library media services to supporting educators in the use of digital tools and resources in all program areas. As such, the position will now report to Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ann Carabillo, bridging the curricular/instructional and technology supervisory responsibilities.

Dr. Carabillo said, “Ms. Madoff’s knowledge of and experience in the Greenwich Public Schools and particularly in library media services, as well as her leadership roles in advising new teachers and as IB coordinator provide ideal experience for this position. She is respected by her colleagues for her leadership, mentoring and instructional support and she is well-versed in the instructional technologies associated with implementing the Digital Learning Environment having had school and District level responsibilities. We look forward to working with Ms. Madoff in our ongoing implementation of the Strategic Plan and our focus on personalized learning.”

After an early career as an art director in the private sector, Ms. Madoff began teaching in 1994 in the Fairfield Public Schools. She came to the Greenwich Public Schools in 1998 as a teacher in the Advanced Learning Program (ALP) at Old Greenwich School. In 2000, she move to the International School at Dundee (ISD) where she taught in the Advanced Learning Program, then as a fifth grade teacher, and for the last seven years as a Library Media Specialist and the International Baccalaureate program coordinator. Named a Greenwich Distinguished Teacher in 2016, Ms. Madoff has also been a TEAM Mentor and Advisor since 2008, helping new teachers to improve their practice. She has been instrumental in the implementation of the Digital Learning Environment at ISD as well as in an advisory capacity at the District level for this multi-year initiative.
Ms. Madoff received a bachelor of arts degree in English and art from Connecticut College, New London, CT in 1984, a master of arts in teaching degree from Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY in 1994, and advanced certification as a Library Media Specialist in 2011 from ACES,Hamden, CT. She is currently enrolled in the administrator certification program at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT expecting to complete the program in 2017.
