Teen Accused Of Throwing Firework At Home, Damaging Property: Greenwich Police

GREENWICH, CT — A 19-year-old man is accused of throwing a lit firework at a home in Greenwich and causing property damage, according to police.

Luca Dominic Scott was recently arrested and charged with third-degree arson; second-degree criminal mischief; first-degree reckless endangerment; illegal possession of an exploding firework; illegal possession of explosives; and second-degree breach of peace.

Arriving officers noticed damage to the front entry awning, siding and a flower bed of the residence, police said.

"Multiple witnesses reported that a male suspect exited a vehicle, ignited a firework, and threw it toward the home," police said. "The device ricocheted off a parked vehicle before detonating against the structure. The suspect then fled the scene."

Following an investigation, Scott was identified as the suspect

Following an investigation, officers identified 19-year-old Luca Dominic Scott as the suspect.

"The explosion caused property damage exceeding $500 and posed a serious risk to the occupants of the home," police noted.

An arrest warrant was signed for Scott and he was later arrested.

"Incidents like this serve as a reminder of the serious dangers associated with fireworks—especially commercial-grade devices in the hands of untrained individuals," police said. "Beyond causing property damage, fireworks can result in life-altering injuries, spark dangerous fires, and threaten the safety of entire neighborhoods."
