Teens Accused in Old Greenwich Car Burglaries

The trio of suspects were caught by Greenwich Police after a neighbor reported seeing them entering parked vehicles.

A trio of juveniles are being investigated for a string of weekend car burglaries in Old Greenwich.

The juveniles, who all live in Stamford and are not being identified because they are younger than 18, were caught by Greenwich Police who were called by a neighbor who saw the trio entering several car Sunday morning, police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said.

The thefts occurred in the North Mianus and Havemeyer Lane neighborhoods on the eastern end of Greenwich, according to Gray. “Three juveniles were witnessed by a neighbor, entering several vehicles. The neighbor called police. Responding officers detained the male juveniles,” Gray said.

Some of the thefts occurred on Hassake Drive, Old Kings Highway and Amherst Road, Gray said.

Coins and cell phones were reported stolen by the vehicle owners.

Details on the charges were not immediately available as police are continuing their investigation.
