A career expert site says it has crunched the numbers and determined the 10 CT communities that have the shortest commute to work.

It’s hard to fathom that anyone in Connecticut has a short commute to work. Tens of thousands of residents take the train or drive into New York City for work and spend several hours commuting daily.

Most of us don’t have it that bad, but we’re all used to rush hour traffic and commute times varying widely.

Zippia, which is a self-described career expert site, said because almost everyone in Connecticut has to commute this list is about which places are a “little less painful relative to others.”

“These are the places where the average commute adds up to extra days of the year saved from just commuting around town,” Zippia writes.

How did they comes up with these results?

According to Zippia, the Census Bureau determines how long residents average commutes are for each place in a state and they did the rest by crunching the numbers.

Based on data, Zippia writes that these are the 10 places with the shortest commutes in The Nutmeg State:

  2. Storrs
  3. Waterford
  4. Groton
  5. Mansfield
  6. Wethersfield
  7. Kensington
  8. West Hartford
  9. Oakville
  10. Windsor
