Truck Fire Ruled a Suicide Attempt
The fire, which injured an Armonk, NY man, was not caused by a vehicle malfunction, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Investigators have ruled the fatal truck fire that injured an Armonk NY man who died of his injuries last month, an apparent suicide attempt, Fairfield Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said Tuesday.

Police believe the can of gasoline found in the back of 23-year-old Justin Hervey's Chevy Tahoe was used to disperse gasoline in the front passenger compartment of the truck on Sept. 6, 2012.
The gas was ignited, creating an explosion and the ensuing fire in the truck parked at Tunxis Hill Park, Lussier said.

Hervey, a part-time Fairfield University student and Armonk, N.Y. native, died of his injuries on Feb. 27 in the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit.
