Trump: Refugees Not Welcome in the US or in Greenwich
The candidate reportedly made the remarks regarding his former hometown during a campaign event in New Hampshire.

If elected President, Republican contender Donald Trump said Syrian refugees would not be welcome in the United States and specifically, not welcome in his former hometown of Greenwich.
Trump reportedly made the comments when he answered a question from a man who claimed he was a Greenwich resident attending a campaign event Monday night in Salem, NH, according to a Hearst Connecticut Media report.
According to the report, Trump said, “I don’t think they should be moving into Greenwich, Connecticut. I don’t think they should be coming into the United States.”
For years Trump and his first wife Ivana lived in a 47-room manse on Vista Drive, overlooking Indian Harbor that’s now on the market for $54 million.
U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-4), who lives in the Cos Cob neighborhood of Greenwich and was campaigning in New Hampshire for Hillary Clinton, criticized Trump and described Greenwich as a welcoming community that rejects Trump’s vitriolic comments, according to the Hearst Connecticut Media report that can be found here.
