GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Historical Society will mark the start of the holiday season with a series of family-focused events beginning in early December, transforming its campus with lights, decorations and programs that support the organization’s arts and education initiatives.

Festival of Tabletop Trees: Unique assortment of festive trees

Dec. 3, 4, 5: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Dec. 6: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual Festival of Tabletop Trees opens Dec. 3, offering a display of one-of-a-kind, artistically decorated trees created by local designers and community partners.

Visitors may bid on trees through a silent auction or purchase them outright, with proceeds benefiting the Greenwich Historical Society. The museum store will be open for holiday shopping and refreshments.

Holiday Boutique: Shopping extravaganza at Greenwich Country Club

Opening night: Dec. 3: 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Boutique: Dec. 4: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Greenwich Historical Society will host its Holiday Boutique at the Greenwich Country Club. Opening night includes music, light snacks and beverages. The boutique continues Dec. 4, featuring apparel, accessories, artisanal foods and children’s gifts sourced internationally. The opening reception costs $25.


Holiday Festival: A Night at the Museum

Dec. 13: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Families are invited back to the Historical Society campus on Dec. 13 for its Holiday Festival: A Night at the Museum. Children may attend in pajamas and take part in crafts, gingerbread decorating and photos with a "special guest from the North Pole" in the historic barn. Outdoor fire pits, s’mores and seasonal treats will be available. In the event of inclement weather, the festival will be held Dec. 14.


Holiday Tea with the Holleys: Includes docent-led tour

Dec. 12: 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The program includes tea service in the barn with live harp music and sweets inspired by the Holley family, along with a brief docent-led tour highlighting the Cos Cob art colony’s winter landscapes.


Museum Store Hours

The Historical Society’s museum store will also be open throughout the season with distinctive jewelry, accessories, books, children’s items and Greenwich-themed gifts. The store operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free parking, gift wrapping and complimentary beverages are available. Members receive a 10 percent discount.
