Waterfront Home Sells For $40 Million In Greenwich

The residential sale is among the highest in Connecticut for 2025, according to Zillow.

GREENWICH, CT — A waterfront Greenwich home located at 579 Indian Field Road has sold for $40 million, according to Sotheby's International Realty.

The residential sale, which was recorded Nov. 19, represents the second highest in Connecticut for 2025, according to Zillow. A home at 214 Clapboard Ridge Road sold for $43.5 million on Aug. 25.

Located within the Mead Point Association, the home at 579 Indian Field Road sits on a 2.72-acre waterfront property, the property description on Sotheby's International Realty's website says. There are panoramic southern and eastern views across Long Island Sound to New York and Tod's Point and Riverside.

"Gatsby-like lawns extend from various porches and terraces down to the water and are trimmed with century-old trees and plantings and magnificent gardens," a description of the property says. "The first floor main rooms all have fireplaces and connect, across the waterside of the house, and open to expansive terraces."

The previous owners could not preserve the original house on the property, so they built new "with the goal of retaining old world quality with distinctive quality materials and finishes."

The home is around 11,500 square feet with six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms.

Amenities include a gym, game room, party room with a full bar and nearby wine cellar, and a new pool and spa and an orchard with fruit-bearing trees outside, as well as a floating dock, the listing says.

"This is a fabulous house for relaxed shoreline living," the property description says.

Zillow shows the home was last sold for $15.2 million in July 2007. In April of this year, it was listed for sale at $43 million, and was pending sale for that amount on Aug. 21 before it was sold for $40 million last week.

The property was listed by Heather Platt of Sotheby's.
