UPDATED: Weather Prompts Changes to Greenwich School Schedules

*Editor’s note: This story has been updated to include the latest early dismissals and what will remain open for students in town.

All Greenwich Public Schools will close early today, Tuesday, Feb. 23.

In an announcement Tuesday morning, the district also announced that all after school and evening activities are cancelled.

In their statement:

“We are following the regular early dismissal schedule - 2-Hour Early Release

The Superintendent and area Districts are erring on the side of caution due to the unpredictability of the weather pattern forecasted.”

Whitby School announced it will be closing at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Stanwich School also will dismiss classes early and all after school activities are cancelled. Dismissal as follows:

• WILDWOOD COTTAGE: 1:00
• PRIMARY HOUSE + SIBLINGS: 1:15
• INTERMEDIATE HOUSE + SIBLINGS: 1:30
• UPPER SCHOOL: 1:45
• BUSES: 2:00PM

Convent of the Sacred Heart:

Greenwich buses will arrive at Sacred Heart at 1:30 p.m. with dismissal at 1:30 p.m. All after-school activities at Sacred Heart are cancelled.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich announced it will remain OPEN for members. Buses and BGCG vehicles will pick up members from the schools on an early release schedule and will bring them to the club.

Brunswick School:

• Pre School - 1:00pm
• Lower School - 1:30pm
• Middle School - 1:25pm
• Upper School - 1:40pm (A block will not meet)

There will no afternoon activities/sports. The Shuttle from King Street to Maher - 1:50pm (drop-off is at Pre School parking lot).

Greenwich Academy:

• PC, CC, Groups I and II: 1:00 PM
• Groups III and IV: 1:10 PM
• MS: 1:20 PM
• US: 1:40 PM
• Cowan Center Closing: 2:00 PM

All buses will depart GA at 1:30 PM EXCEPT the Town of Greenwich bus which will depart at 1:50 PM.
