Yet Another SUV Stolen in Greenwich

After having dinner on Greenwich Avenue, a town resident discovers his vehicle has been stolen.

After enjoying a dinner on lower Greenwich Avenue, a town resident thought he would drive home.

Unfortunately, someone apparently stole his 2015 Lexus SUV that had been parked on the avenue for nearly two hours on Tuesday evening, according to Greenwich Police.

The man had parked the car in the 300 block of Greenwich Avenue about 6:40 p.m. to go out for dinner and when he returned about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 16, “he couldn’t find his car. We couldn’t find his car,” said Sgt. John Slusarz.

The owner had the keys to the vehicle and there wasn’t any evidence that glass had been broken to enter the SUV, Slusarz said.

“We filed a stolen vehicle report,” Slusarz said.

The theft is the latest in a continuing series of vehicle thefts throughout town. On Valentine’s Day, police investigated a report of the theft of a 2014 Audi A8 was stolen from the driveway of a Calhoun Drive residence. While officers investigated that theft, they recovered a Mercedes Benz SUV that had been reported stolen from New York State.
