Daily Five: Demolition Begins On Avery Point Student Center

1. Today is Monday, Jan. 30. The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies, a high temperature of 41 degrees and a breeze of 16 to 23 mph. The low will fall to 31 tonight, and there's a slight chance of snow after 2 a.m.
2. The demolition is expected to take three to five days, Campus Director Michael Alfultis said.

Superintendent Paul Kadri will outline the details of his proposed education budget for the coming fiscal year to the Board of Education during a special meeting at 7 p.m. today in the Town Hall Annex. The board will meet jointly with the town council at 5:30 p.m., immediately prior to the budget hearing.

4. made 60 arrests in December, including 14 for driving under the influence and five for narcotics, according to a report to the town manager. The arrests included 51 adults, one youth offender and eight juvenile referrals. Detectives also investigated two burglaries in Center Groton.
