Groton Lawmaker Steps Down As Legislative Session Begins
State Rep. Christine Conley has left her 40th House District seat as she is being nominated for another position, according to reports.
NEW LONDON, CT — State Rep. Christine Conley (D-Groton) resigned from her General Assembly seat Tuesday afternoon, FOX 61 reported. She will not take her seat as a member of the legislature when its session begins Wednesday.
Conley resigned as she is being nominated for an administrative judge position. A representative of Gov. Ned Lamont told The Day of New London that Conley will be nominated to be an administrative judge of the Worker's Compensation Commission.
Conley was elected to serve her fifth term representing the 40th District in November. The district covers part of New London and Groton. Conley, 42, an attorney, defeated Republican Susan Deane-Shinbrot in the election.
