Groton Man Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges

A 5-year-old boy from New London reportedly told a school nurse that a 31-year-old man had inappropriately touched him.

A 31-year-old man from Groton was arrested Friday, March 18, on charges of sexual assault in the fourth degree and risk of injury to a minor.

According to The Day, a 5-year-old boy from New London visited his school nurse and said he had been touched in an inappropriate way by someone.

New London Police contacted the City of Groton Police on Monday, Feb. 29, and informed them of the potential assault.

Groton resident Amador Quintana, 31, of 245 Benham Rd., Apt. 4, reportedly informed police that he and the boy were best friends and would take showers together, as well as play a game that involved touching.

The nurse contacted the state Department of Children and Families after the boy told her of the alleged conduct.

He was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.

On Feb. 29, Groton City Police received a call from the New London Police Department, informing them of a possible sexual assault, the warrant said.
