Groton 'No Parking' Order in Place for Kids Karnival 2016

The parking ban is in effect from Friday, May 6, to Sunday, May 8.

The Town of Groton Police Department announced the issuance of a temporary no parking order. The order is in conjunction with the annual Kids Karnival, which is being held this weekend at the Navy Youth Recreation Center, on Hickory Drive.

The temporary no parking order began noon Friday, May 6, and will remain in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday, May 8, on the following roads:

  • Hickory Drive: From Route 12 to the eastern intersection with Butternut Road
  • Butternut Road: The entire road
  • Plum Lane: The entire road
  • Charter Oak Drive: From Route 12 to Spruce Lane.
  • Spruce Lane: Both sides from Charter Oak Drive to the first dwelling

There will be free shuttle service to the carnival, from two off-site parking areas. The off-site parking areas are the Pleasant Valley Elementary School, located on Pleasant Valley Road, South, and Navy Child Development Center, located on Dewey Ave.
