Groton Police Charge Man With Heroin Possession

Bridgeport man is being held on $100,000 bond.

The Groton Narcotics Unit arrested a Bridgeport man Wednesday and charged him with possession of heroin with intent to sell.

Michael Gomez, 32, of 305 Cottage St. in Bridgeport, was charged with two counts of possession of heroin, two counts of possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of heroin within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of heroin with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school and risk of injury to a minor, according to a Groton Police Department news release.

Gomez is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Dec. 29, the news release said.

The narcotics unit seized over a 1/2 ounce of heroin, and $1,100. The East Lyme Police Department assisted in the investigation.
