Man Accused Of Selling Cocaine In Groton: Police
The man was arrested after a traffic stop, according to police.
GROTON, CT — A New London man is accused of selling cocaine in Groton, according to police.
Groton Police Lt. Anthony LaFleur received a resident’s complaint on Wednesday, April 30 regarding drug dealing in town and launched an investigation, according to police.
The suspect was identified as 59-year-old Robert Watson of New London, and police said LaFleur also identified the vehicle Watson was accused of using to deliver crack cocaine in the community after work.

Officer Bryan Albee found Watson’s vehicle around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Groton Long Point Road, according to police.
Police said Sgt. Tyler DeAngelo and K-9 Jax responded to the scene as backup and “conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle's exterior, which resulted in K9 Jax displaying alert behavior.”

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police found 15.4 grams of crack cocaine, 3.3 grams of cocaine packaged for sale and a digital scale, according to officials.
Police also seized two cellphones, officials said.
Watson was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and one count each of possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to obey a stop sign. He was released after posting a $7,500 bond.
