Groton Restaurant Chef Has Your Valentine's Day Back

For as long as he’s been in the restaurant business, for Valentine’s Day.

“The day before Valentine’s Day and the day of, the phone will be ringing off the hook,” he says.

This year the holiday falls on a Tuesday, and the executive chef at has your back.

The restaurant is offering a prix fixe menu where you pay one set price ($35 per person) and choose from a list of appetizers, entrees and desserts to make a meal. The menu, called “Valentine’s Love Fest” runs from Feb. 10 to 14.

Stafford said the restaurant had a little fun naming the choices; for example, “fresh (like your honey on a first date) Atlantic Salmon” and Citrus and crumb-crusted chicken “like falling in love for the first time.”

The holiday can be bumpy if you don’t plan, but it can also be a nice night out.

 “Some of the ladies have very high expectations, and the guys are under a lot of pressure to meet those expectations,” Stafford said.

To make sure all goes well, here’s a saying from restaurant business: “Prior planning prevents poor performance,” he said.
