Popular Bar And Grille Chain Opening Groton Location Soon

The 10th location in the state of a chain with Connecticut roots will open a Groton restaurant this month.

GROTON, CT — The Groton location of Wood-n-Tap is nearing its opening date of June 25. The 117 Long Hill Road restaurant represents the 10th location of Wood-n-Tap in the state and the 11th overall.

The restaurant is housed at the former location of Ninety-Nine. The project was approved by the town last year.

Wood-n-Tap will kick things off with a fundraiser to benefit Fitch High School and Stonington High School's class of 2026.

The "fun-filled grand opening celebration where good food meets a great cause" will be Saturday, June 21. More info is available at Wood-n-Tap's website.

Wood-n-Tap describes itself as a scratch kitchen, noting that they make everything from scratch, including soups, sauces, and salad dressing.

The American bar and grill restaurant is a "true Connecticut original" started in 2002 by partners Phil Barnett and Mike Hamlin, according to its website.

The chain receives a 3.9-star average on TripAdvisor. Diners enjoyed menu items like the Philly cheese steak egg rolls and calamari. Wood-n-Tap also serves cocktails and a range of beers.
