Adam Greenberg Gets his At Bat

Last night, Greenberg was nothing but smiles even after he struck out during his at bat

I tuned in last night to the Miami Marlins as they took on the New York Mets so I could catch Adam Greenberg's infamous "One More" at bat. In the sixth inning, Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen sent him in to pinch hit for outfielder Bryan Peterson. Amongst chatter of the Guilford native's journey back to the Major Leagues by the announcers, Greenberg took the plate to fans cheering and a standing ovation by some.

The first pitch he took went right down the middle for a strike. Greenberg swung at the next two, but missed both. Even after his strikeout, though, Greenberg was nothing but smiles, and was greeting warmly by his teammates as he made his way back to the bench. Not a dramatic ending to his seven year journey back to the plate, but certainly a very rewarding and happy one.
