Have your kids ever pestered you to stop working and start baking some cookies?
The son of legendary cookbook author Dorrie Greenspan did just that. Josh Greenspan says his mom made more than cookies, she also made memories.
Dorrie's new line of cookies are built on those memories, says Josh on the Beurre & Sel website, which features the whole line of cookies.
Those cookies are now available at Star Fish Market in Guilford, along with the many other specialty items stocked in the store.
In addition to fresh fish, seafood, vegetables, bread, and other specialty items, the store now has several flavors of Dorrie's cookies. Rosemary Parmesan, Sesame Sea Salt, and Cocoa Cayenne were in stock Tuesday, along with Classic Jammers (think French jam and crispy streusel) and, our favorite, World Peace Cookies (Valrhona cocoa and hand-chopped Valrhona extra-bitter chocolate with Guérande Fleur de Sel).
Star Fish Market Owner Colette Lukas says Dorrie, who has a home on the Connecticut shoreline, stopped in with some cookies to test around Christmas time, and "everyone went crazy" over them.
Now they're back, but in a limited supply, so if you want to try them out you had better move fast!
Star Fish Market is at 650 Village Walk right off of Boston Post Road, not too far from the Madison Town Line. Call first to check to see if they still have some in stock: 203-458-3474.
