Christine Mancini To Lead Guilford Public Schools Food Services Department

Guilford Schools Announces Interim Food Service Director

The Guilford Public Schools Food Services Department will be under new leadership beginning this school year. We are pleased to announce that Christine Mancini will serve as Interim Director of Food Services. Ms. Mancini brings thirteen years of experience as the Director of Food Services for Avon Public Schools where she managed the K-12 lunch program in the 5-school district, increased revenue and participation, and maintained a surplus fund balance throughout her 13-year tenure.
 
Recent GPS Food Services Director, Timothy Cipriano, has accepted a position with Chartwells, a national food service company, to be closer to home and spend more time with his growing family. 
 
Superintendent of Schools Paul Freeman stated, “Chef Tim has laid the groundwork for positive and healthy changes to the food served in our schools. We want to encourage kids to develop healthy food habits. Ms. Mancini’s extensive background (in school food) and her successful track record will allow us to continue our commitment of offering healthy, nutritious foods that are appealing to students, and effectively manage our food service program.”    
 
Christine Mancini will begin her work in the district on August 19, 2013.
