East Haven, Guilford, Branford Firefighters Get Rescue Training

Over this past weekend the East Haven, Branford and Guilford fire departments received rapid intervention training - or in other words - how to rescue a lost or trapped firefighter during a rescue mission.

On the East Haven Fire Department’s Facebook page, the department said this about the training:

“The training was conducted by Chief Jim Crawford who is formerly of the Pittsburg Bureau of Fire. Rapid Intervention is the term used fire firefighter rescue, operations undertaken to rescue a lost or trapped firefighter. The four firefighters who attended will be bringing some of these techniques back to the East Haven Fire Department.’’
