Fire Reported At Bishop’s Orchard In Guilford

The Bishop family shared an update about the damage from the fire.

GUILFORD, CT — Fire crews responded to a blaze at Bishop's Orchard just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

"Guilford Fire crews and surrounding town Fire Departments are handling an active structure fire at Bishop’s Orchard. Boston Post Rd is closed between Long Hill Rd and Peddlers Rd," police posted late Saturday.

In an update, police said, "Boston Post Rd is now open. All the employees and animals are safe and unharmed. Thank you for your patience."

In a social media post, Bishop's Orchards Farm Market said, "Update: Tonight around 8:30pm our beloved Little Red Barn faced a fire. We are grateful to share that no one was injured or hurt and all are safe, including our cherished animals nearby (the smoke was drifting in the opposite direction from their location). The damage is significant, and the immediate future of the “LRB” is uncertain.

"We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Guilford Fire Department, Branford Fire Department and Madison Fire Department, along with the Guilford Police Department for their swift response. We are so fortunate to have these fine men and women serving our town(s).
