First Selectman Mazza responds to Power Outages

As Day Four of recovery begins Post Sandy, Guilford First Selectman wanted to address power outages.

As Mazza stated yesterday, he understands the town’s frustrations with the situation. “We understand residents are anxious to get the power back on,” he concluded. “We are working hard to restore power as quickly as possible, and we appreciate residents patience with this matter.”

Guilford town officials are working tremendously hard to get power back on as quickly, and safely as possible. The Fire Department, Police Department, Tree Warden and others, have worked around the clock to coordinate with CL&P representatives. First Selectman Joe Mazza has advocated for the town tirelessly. When CL&P tries starts to give vague answers, Mazza sets out deadlines for them.  Mazza even spoke about the issue to the Governor when he paid the town a visit. Restoration is picking up and it's largely due to the hard work of our town officials and town departments.
