Guilford Annual Holiday Basket Donations Now Being Accepted
A Guilford Tradition of giving back to those in need continues this year

Donations for Guilford's Annual Holiday Baskets for families in need are being accepted at the VFW today. If you are interested in donating food items, they can be dropped off at Guilford's VFW Post #7666 from 2 PM to 6 PM. Donations will also be accepted tomorrow at the same times. Tammy DeFrancesco, Guilford Social Services Director, sat down with Guilford Patch to talk about Guilford's generosity throughout the years.
"I couldn't even begin to tell you how long this collection has been going on" shared Tammy DeFrancesco. "It was in place when I arrived here full time over 20 years ago. It's really a Guilford tradition."

"Around the Holiday's, we always try to make sure we have food that goes along with that holiday tradition," continued DeFrancesco. "Like for July 4th we'll make marshmallows and potato salads available. It makes their celebration feel that much more like a special time of year." Check out the list of requested foods here.
DeFrancesco also talked about the recent success of the Days of Caring Guilford took part in earlier this year. "The response we got was great," said DeFrancesco. "The support we got from the town was very strong."
