Guilford Community Donates “Thousands” To Unpaid Federal Workers
"Thus far we have over $3,000 in gift card donations, a large amount of food donations and an incredible amount of pet food donations!"

GUILFORD, CT - The call to help Guilford federal workers stuck in the middle of the government shutdown has been answered - in a big way.
Guilford police had this to say on its Facebook page about the effort to help those who have gone more than a month without a paycheck help pay bills.
“To say we are amazed at the community support of our Guilford residents facing financial hardship due to the government shutdown does not do it justice....

“We are blown away!!! Thus far we have over $3,000 in gift card donations, a large amount of food donations and an incredible amount of pet food donations! (shout out to Lisa Holk who needed a dolly to cart all the pet food in.
“We will be collecting these items and continuing to distribute them through the Guilford Cares group and Guilford Social Services. Pet food and supplies are available in the police lobby for those affected by the shutdown.
