Guilford Cops Issue Warning On Setting Off Illegal Fireworks

Guilford cops have taken to Facebook to warn people not to set off illegal fireworks during this time of the year.

GUILFORD, CT - The Guilford Police Department is always outdoing itself when it comes to leaving messages on its Facebook page about doings around town. The latest post on its Facebook page is a warning about setting off illegal fireworks.

The post says:

Brace yourselves... if you are setting off illegal fireworks tonight you can rest assured that your neighbors will call us and we will introduce ourselves. (Not the way we prefer to meet)

“The fire danger is extreme in the area and while the Guilford Fire Department is AMAZING at putting out fires and treating injuries we do NOT want to respond to injuries and fires due to reckless behavior with illegal fireworks.

“And let’s not even get started on the possibility of arrest.... because that is kind of our job... so you know it’s an option...

“While using legal fireworks, make sure to have a hose readily available to extinguish any flames that may start due to dry conditions.
