Here is what he says:

"Hi everyone. I have a big request for help. The grant I requested still hasn't materialized and time is running out. With the size of this event growing significantly we have bills piling up for necessities and without a firm budget in place it is very difficult to proceed. I am promised the grant will come through but no check issuance date has been given.

"If and when a check does arrive we will use those funds to continue our work moving forward but right now we have an event to finance.

"With the event one week away I we are going to have to pay for a lot of this ourselves. Please chip in whatever you can and let's have the best event possible, Thanks in advance for whatever you can contribute!"
