Guilford Officers Awarded at MADD Reception

The Connecticut Mother's Against Drunk Driving reception took place Tuesday, May 24.

Officer Marilisa Anania and Officer Michael Williams received awards at the annual Connecticut Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reception, held at Central Connecticut State University on Tuesday, May 24. Both officers excelled at DUI enforcement in the past year and were recognized for their dedication to traffic safety.

According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, (NHTSA), a person is injured in a drunk-driving crash every two minutes, and about 27 people die as a result of drunk-driving crashes on a daily basis.

These officers and the Guilford Police Department make DUI enforcement a priority with the goal of preventing future injuries and deaths related to DUI crashes. With the summer approaching, the Guilford Police Department reminds drivers to safely operate their vehicles.
