Guilford Police Dog Kobe Helps Officers Stop Burglary In Progress
The police dog and the officers catch an alleged burglar in the act at a house on Goose Lane on Friday; Maine man was arrested and charged.

GUILFORD, CT - On June 22nd, 2018 at approximately 4 p.m. the Guilford Police Department responded to a residence on Goose Lane for the report of a burglary in progress.
The homeowner contacted the department after seeing a male subject enter the residence via a surveillance system. No one was home at the time of the incident.
Officer Bartlett with K9 Kobe, Officer McPhillips, and Sergeant Massey were the first officers on scene and apprehended the male subject as he exited the residence.

The subject was identified as Alex Johnson (Age: 29) of Maine. Johnson was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. He is currently being held in lieu of bond for arraignment. It does appear that this was an isolated incident and there is no evidence at this time to suggest other residences in Guilford were affected.
