Guilford Police Warning Residents About Social Security Scam

GUILFORD, CT - Guilford police are warning about a residents a new Social Security scam.

They are saying this on their Facebook page:

"We have received numerous calls about a Social Security Scam targeting Guilford residents over the last few days. Thankfully no one has reported falling for it in Guilford but we wanted to make you aware. It is a scam. Your number was not compromised.... but it will be if you give them your info. Never give out personal information to any stranger who calls you.... like never ever.

"If you have been scammed please feel free to pick up one of our Identity Theft packets from dispatch. The packet will explain how to minimize the financial damage and prevent future issues.
