Guilford Public Schools Provides Parents and Staff with Resources on Talking to Children about Violence
After the tragedy in Newtown, Guilford Public Schools distributes information to help parents talk to their children about violence.
After the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Guilford Public Schools sent a message Friday afternoon to reassure parents that all their security measures were in place at all of the schools.
They also distributed a document from the National Association of School Psychologists to all parents and staff. The document is entitled “Talking to Your Children About Violence: Tips for Parents and Teachers.” It focuses specifically on school violence. The document is also available on the school's website, along with this message:
