Guilford Stump Dump Will Soon No Longer Take Cash

The move comes after two transfer station employees were arrested for allegedly pocketing cash on the job.

Starting on July 1, the Guilford Stump Dump will no longer take cash.

Instead, residents must pay either with a check or with a prepaid ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the Guilford Engineering Department at 50 Boston Street.

In April, two transfer station employees - Frank Cole and Philip Hunt - were arrested for allegedly pocketing cash on the job. The transfer station stopped accepting cash this May.
