Guilford To Celebrate 105th Birthday Of Longtime Librarian Tuesday
A celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. for Edith Nettleton.

On Tuesday, the Guilford Free Library will celebrate the 105th birthday of its “first librarian,” Edith Nettleton.
The Shoreline Times reports that Nettleton was hired in 1933 as the town’s first librarian and worked for the town until 1978. A few months after her retirement, she came back to the library to volunteer in the Historical Room, according to the newspaper.
The library will celebrate her birthday from 2 to 4 on Tuesday with cake and ice cream. All are welcome to come.
