Guilford's Bryan McNamara Volunteers In Haiti

McNamara volunteered at the Louverature Cleary School, a boarding school in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti.

Bryan McNamara ’15, a resident of Guilford, Conn., recently participated in the College's first spring International Immersion trip to Haiti. From May 27 to June 1, McNamara, a Global Studies and Spanish major, along with 7 other PC students, volunteered at the Louverature Cleary School, a boarding school in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. The school is operated by The Haitian Project, whose president is Deacon Patrick J.A. Moynihan ’99G & ’12Hon. It provides a tuition-free education to 350 children. PC students assisted with teaching classes, planned activities, and got to know students and staff. They were accompanied by Rev. James Cuddy O.P. ’98, College Chaplain and Sarah Atwood, a campus minister for PC.

Providence College is a Catholic, liberal arts college has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 3,900 students and offers degrees in 49 academic majors in Providence, RI.
