Guilford's New Business: Artistic Healings

The new business at 620 Village Walk in Guilford offers therapeutic art classes.

Guilford has a new business that offers a new way to combat mental health problems: art.

Last month, Artistic Healings opened up at 620 Village Walk in Guilford, above Star Fish Market, according to The Shoreline Times. The store offers a place to meditate and offers therapeutic art programs, according to The Times.

“I’m really an artist at heart. I wanted to be able to blend art and psychology together,” owner Stephanie O’Sullivan told The Shoreline Times. “Instead of using a drug or going to see a psychologist, people have the option of doing an art program."

O'Sullivan, who has a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and art therapy from Albertus Magnus College, will offer a Friday night class for teenagers from 8 to 10 and "mommy morning classes" at 7 a.m., according to The Shoreline Times. The business will be open from Monday through Saturday, with the hours dependent on class schedules, according to The Times.
