The Guilford Fire Department helped extinguish a fire raging in downtown Madison early Thursday morning.
The town's fire department was one of several from surrounding communities that helped put out the fire on the town's main street, in it's thriving restaurant and retail district, after it broke out around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Madison Hose Co. No. 1 Fire Chief Bobby Kyttle said he wanted to thank the fire departments that responded from surrounding towns, including Branford, Guilford, Durham, Killingworth and Clinton fire departments.
