Moment of Silence Observed For Guilford Teen Killed By Gun Shot
Guilford State Representative Sean Scanlon asked colleagues to observe a moment of silence at start of General Assembly session Wednesday.

HARTFORD, CT – The opening day of the General Assembly is normally a chaotic, loud day but it became very quiet for a few moments on Wednesday when there was a moment of silence called for the Guilford teen killed last week by a gun shot.
Guilford State Rep. Sean Scanlon asked his colleagues to observe a moment of silence (see below) for Ethan Song, who was killed in a Seaside Avenue home, by a gunshot.
Scanlon told his state legislative colleagues that while Guilford has been hurting from “this unspeakable tragedy,” that the “community has come together,” to bond and heal.

Scanlon said he didn’t know Ethan but he knows Ethan’s family has been moved by the outpouring of support that the community has shown for the 15-year-old boy.
That support has included a candlelight vigil held on the Guilford Green last Friday night, attended by hundreds; and a GoFundMe page which has raised nearly $100,000 in support of causes that Ethan cared deeply about.
