New Report Has Latest Enrollment Numbers For Guilford Schools
The Board of Education discussed enrollment numbers at Guilford schools at a recent meeting of the Board of Education

GUILFORD, CT - Total school enrollment for Guilford public schools is currently 3,357 which is a reduction of 70 students from last year, according to School Superintendent Dr. Paul Freeman.
Freeman gave the numbers report at a recent meeting of the Board of Education.
Freeman said a study done 10 years ago projected that Guilford would have 2,982 students - so that current enrollment is 310 students higher than that projection.

He said that factors not included in the decade-old study were changes that have been made in the special education programs since that have serviced more in-district students, the implementation of full-day kindergarten, and the construction of a new high school which has attracted new families to Guilford.
Dr. Freeman also reported that the average class size, currently, for lower grades in Guilford public schools is 18. He further suggested that the board consider allocation funds for a new study to study future trends.
