Tuesday, December 19, 2023 John J. Guerrera, 92, longtime resident of Guilford passed away at Guilford House Nursing Center. Beloved husband of 68 years of Beatrice (Bea) Arsenault Guerrera. Mr. Guerrera was born in Waterbury on October 22, 1931, son of the late John and Jeanette (Brenier) Guerrera. Loving father of John Guerrera (Karen); Louis Guerrera (Donna) ; Michael Guerrera (Leigh) ; David Guerrera; Joseph Guerrera (Laurie) ; James Guerrera (Mary) : Thomas Guerrera (Kathleen) and Melanie DiNicola. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren with 2 on the way, and 1 great great grandchild. Predeceased by his loving sister Joan Hyde and beloved grandson David (Bubba) Guerrera Jr.

John honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Before retirement he was self-employed, running a successful screenprinting business with his wife. He enjoyed traveling and being an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Saint George Church Social Committee. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family who he loved beyond measure.Tuesday, December 19, 2023 John J. Friends are invited to calling hours Friday, December 29 from 9:30 – 11 am at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Friday, December 29 at 11:30am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in CT State Veteran Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
