Obituary: Joseph T. Londa, 92, longtime Guilford resident

An Air Force veteran, he was an SNET accounting manager, and with Guilford Lions Club, found joy in giving back, making a positive impact.

Wednesday, January 31, 2024 Joseph T. Londa, 92, longtime resident of Guilford passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Husband of the late June Marie (Lyne) Londa, Mr. Londa was born in Queens, New York on November 11, 1931, son of the late Albert Londa and Sarah (Tobin) Londa. Loving father of Christopher (Deana) Londa; Matthew Londa; John (Rebecca) Londa; predeceased by three sons, Joseph Londa Jr., Gary Londa, and Edward Londa. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Brittany (Alex) Hirsch, Megan Londa, Kelsi Londa, Matthew Londa Jr., Christopher Londa Jr., Mason Londa; and great granddaughters, Isabella Bontempo and Riley Hirsch. Also predeceased by a brother Albert Londa.

Mr. Londa's life was marked by honorable service and dedicated commitment. After graduating from Bryant High School, he served his country in the US Air Force, stationed at the Wasserkuppe, Germany radar site. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career, working for New York Telephone and later for SNET as an accounting manager. His professional endeavors were matched by his passion for community service. A longtime member and past president of the Guilford Lions Club, he found joy in giving back and making a positive impact. He will be fondly remembered by his friends and family for his unwavering generosity, wise counsel, and love for life's simple pleasures. Whether traveling, or enjoying the company of loved ones, he approached each moment with dedication and enthusiasm. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit of kindness and his commitment to the things he held dear will continue to inspire and resonate within our hearts.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, February 7 from 9:30 – 11 am at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Followed by a prayer service at 11 am at Guilford Funeral Home. Burial will take place at West Cemetery, 71 Jannas Ln, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; www.stjude.org.
