Obituary: Maryellyn Welch Page, 93, of Guilford
She and her husband owned Page Insurance, LTD, and at 66, she got her pilot's license and logged thousands of miles on her Piper Cherokee.
Maryellyn Welch Page, 93, of Guilford passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024 at her home. She was born November 13, 1930, daughter of the late Frank G. Welch and Kathryn Meehan Welch.
Maryellyn was the salutatorian of her Guilford High School class and received her B.S. in Zoology from the University of Connecticut. She was a teacher before marrying George W. Page in 1953. After raising her family, she worked with her husband in the family-owned business, Page Insurance, LTD, before retirement. When she was 66 years old, she obtained her pilot’s license and logged thousands of miles on her Piper Cherokee over the years.

Maryellyn was predeceased by her husband, George W. Page, who died in 2014 after 60 years of marriage. She leaves behind her daughters, Stephanie Page Bardwell (A. Clifford) New Bern, NC; Charlotte Page Johnston, Monroe; Connie Page Miller, Norfolk, VA; Jennifer Clark Page, Guilford; Sarah Page Kyrcz (Robert), Madison and Martha Page (Frederic Boursier), Warren, ME and sons, George W., Jr., Guilford and Geoffrey Alexander (Natalie), Shoreview, MN. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren Vincent III and Nicholas Gianfredi; Bradley, Bryan and Kelsey Johnston; Lindsay (Miller) Pryor, Matthew and Alanna Miller; Rachel and Shannon Page; Ana and Sophia Kyrcz; Amos, Zoe, Marieke and Rowan Page and Ky, Mackenna and Nora Page and 17 great grandchildren, Carina, Roman and Della Gianfredi; Vincent Gianfredi; Luella, Goldie, Dove and River Johnston; Gemma, Finn, London and Everett Johnston; Lila and Ryder Perone; Dylan, Gus and Nina Pryor and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Charlotte Welch Quaintance and brother, Frank G. Welch, Jr.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Connecticut Hospice for their comfort and support and her daughter, Jennifer, whose support made it possible for Maryellyn to live out her life in her own home.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, February 9 from 5 – 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Saturday, February 10 at 10 am. Burial will follow in North Guilford Cemetery, 159 Ledge Hill Rd, Guilford.
