A car sales manager, he loved the sunshine, classic Italian cuisine, watching baseball, football, and horse racing and trips to the casino.

Saturday, March 16, 2024 Robert D. Cretella longtime resident of Guilford passed away at CT Hospice, Branford. Mr. Cretella was born in New Haven on September 17, 1944, son of the late Dominic Cretella and Mary (Dalessio) Cretella. Brother of Corrine Horvath. Loving father of April Cretella of Guilford, Trisha Cretella of Guilford and Angelina Cretella of Bridgeport. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Dominic, Vincenzo, Luna, Luca, Noah and Phoenix. His grandchildren were truly his pride and joy.

Robert had worked as a general car sales manager for many years. He enjoyed being in the sunshine. Whether it was laying on a beach or in a lawn chair in the yard, where the sun was he followed. He would say, “if only it could be California weather in CT, 75 and sunny.” He loved longs walks by Long Island sound. He loved classic Italian cuisine especially, italian ice, pignoli cookies and stuffed breads. He loved watching baseball and football, as well as he loved watching horse racing and going to the casino.
