Obituary: Suzanne T. Lee, 84, of Branford, formerly Guilford

A Guilford Public Library librarian, volunteer at the Guilford Foundation, Guilford Handcrafts Center, and was a talented calligrapher.

Suzanne T. Lee of Branford, formerly of Guilford for 46 years, died Sunday February 4, 2024 at Artis Senior Living. She was the beloved wife of the late James Scott Lee.

Suzanne was born December 16, 1939 in Racine, West Virginia, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Williams) Tamplin. She worked as a librarian at the Guilford Public Library and was a very active volunteer. Suzanne was happy to give her time to the Guilford library, the Guilford Foundation, where she also served as President and the Guilford Handcrafts Center. She was a talented calligrapher and loved reading. For many years, Suzanne was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Branford. She had a heart for all creatures great and small and always loved Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer O’Brien of Branford, James Scott (Jennifer) Lee, Jr. of Madison, and David R. (Jenifer) Lee of Deerfield, NH; her grandchildren Declan and Riley O’Brien, Matthew (Samantha) Lee, James Scott (Emily) Lee, III, Victoria, Jack and Jacob Lee; her great-granddaughter Sedona Lee; and her sister Jenny L. (Daniel) Light of Racine, WV.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday February 17, with visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, and service at 4:00, at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
