Obituary: Tonia S. Melillo, 77, of Guilford, formerly Branford
Guilford High School grad who attended Quinnipiac University, she enjoyed casino trips, and before retiring, worked for the Agency on Aging.
Friday, November 3, 2023 Tonia S. Melillo, 77, longtime resident of Guilford formerly of Branford passed away at CT Hospice, Branford. Wife of Richard G. Melillo. Mrs. Melillo was born in New Haven on Sept. 28, 1946, daughter of the late Roy A. Sandagata, Sr and Natalie (Timoteo) Sandagata of East Haven. Beloved sister of Roy A. Sandagata Jr and his wife Josephine of North Banford; Mark Sandagata of Oregon; and Michele Eligio and her husband Anthony of East Haven. Also survived by a very special Aunt and Best Friend Margaret (Peggy) Budeit along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Tonia is a graduate of Guilford High School and attended Quinnipiac University. Before retirement she had for worked for the Agency on Aging. She enjoyed trips to Maine and the Casino. She would want to be remembered as “putting a smile on someone’s face.”

Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, November 10 from 3 – 6 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford; with a prayer service to take place at 5 pm. Burial services will be held privately in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
