Obituary: Verna "GG" Cunningham, 91, Of Guilford

GUILFORD, CT — Verna "GG" Cunningham longtime resident of Guilford passed away peacefully Saturday, July 31st, 2021. Verna was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Cunningham of 61 years as well as her son in laws Dennis Bertholet Sr. and Nicholas Pullman. She is survived by her five children Florence Bertholet of Clinton, Sharon Pullman of Meriden, Nelson Cunningham Jr. of Guilford, Roger (Roxanne) Cunningham of Durham, and Pamela (Rick) Collins of Guilford. Verna also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and loving family members that knew her as Aunt Diddy. Verna was born September 17th, 1929, in Dexter, Maine to the late Vernon Judkins and Mabel Knights. Verna was an avid Bingo player and rarely missed a Monday night at Knights of Columbus.

The family would like to thank staff at CT Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided during her time there.

Verna will be laid to rest next to her loving husband on Thursday August 5th at 2pm at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT 06457 with a reception to follow.
