Recent Business Openings To Check Out In Guilford

Several new businesses have opened in Guilford in recent months, and more are on the way.

GUILFORD, CT — A number of new businesses opened near the end of 2022 in Guilford, including new restaurants, a Chiropractic office and a men’s clothing store on the green.

Economic Development Director Sheri Cote provided the following updates at a recent Board of Selectmen meeting on business openings.

  • Back to Balance Chiropractic and Family Wellness opened behind Planet Fitness.
  • Paul Dostie KARES Foundation opened.
  • Gentleman’s Social Outfitter and Supply opened on the town green.
  • The popular Pokemoto Hawaiian chain opened a Guilford location.
  • Moon Shots converted from a food truck to a brick-and-mortar store.
  • T-Mobile took over space at the Guilford Commons where Verizon was previously located.

Chase Bank is aiming to put a 2,900 square foot standalone location in the parking lot of Shoreline Plaza. The proposal will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission Feb. 15.

The Ben Callahan Sports Complex proposal is working its way through board approvals and should be before the Planning and Zoning Commission in March or April, Cote said.

Plans call for 150,000 square foot building, which includes indoor turf fields, fitness rooms, multipurpose basketball court, daycare and some retail space. The second floor of the building would have multipurpose media rooms and a restaurant.

There will also be outdoor turf fields and 90,000 square feet of commercial space that will be used for medical offices.
