School is On for Monday, November 5th, at Guilford Schools

After Hurricane Sandy closed Guilford schools for a week, School is On for Monday, Nov. 5th

A message from Lorri Hahn, Guilford Board of Education Communications Coordinator:

Hello GPS Community,

We are pleased to inform you that power has been restored to all seven Guilford Public School buildings and school will be open on a regular schedule, tomorrow, Monday, November 5th.

Roads are accessible to our buses, but it is possible that some minor delays may occur due to residual issues from the storm on some of the bus routes. We appreciate your patience as all buses will be running tomorrow.

A correction from Guilford High School - Monday will be a "C" Day for students.

Tuesday, November 6th, will now be a Regular School Day for both students and staff. This Election Day was originally scheduled as a Professional Development Day for staff only, but due to the five emergency closing days last week, school will now be in session this Tuesday. Students who have a scheduled previous commitment on this day should contact their school's principal. Guilford Police will be stationed at each of our schools that serve as polling locations and faculty and staff at these schools will be asked to park away from the poll entrances to make access convenient for voters.

The last day of school and Guilford High School Graduation is currently Thursday, June 20, 2013. This date is subject to change in the event of additional emergency closing days.

The Town of Guilford has rescheduled Halloween Trick or Treating to Friday, November 9th. Please click here for more information about rescheduled events.

Please link to Town of Guilford Emergency Update for a detailed list of storm-related information.

We hope you and your families are recovering from the storm and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday!
