GUILFORD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Jennifer Sfreddo who nominated her cousin Lisa Marie DeVoe, an ICU nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital.

What does the nominee do for work?:
Lisa is an RN at Yale New Haven in the ICU

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
On top of taking care of her 2 daughters, Lisa is working non stop in the ICU at Yale NH Hospital risking her own safety to save patients sick with Covid-19. She never complains and always has a smile on her face and a positive message to give to all her friends and family worried about her safety and well-being.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Lisa is an amazing mom and wife in addition to being a super hero nurse! Her love for her family and friends is infinite and we are so proud of her and the work that she is doing!
